Though experience is not a requirement, a strong preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated water resources coursework and training/exposure to software used daily in our practice. The ADSRP is presently one of the most important dam safety infrastructure projects in the U.S. A critical and complex multi-year project, the ADSRP involves deconstructing and reconstructing Anderson Dam in order to improve reliability and safety and to return the reservoir to its optimal 90,000-acre-foot storage capacity. The project is nearing design completion.
The Deputy Program Manager will be part of an organizational structure that includes dam owner Valley Water as Program Manager; the Black & Veatch Team (including Schaaf & Wheeler) as Program Management Consultant; the Design Team, the Construction Management Team, and the Contractor.
Overall, the Black & Veatch Program Management Consulting (PMC) Team provides management and technical support to Valley Water in the areas of environmental, permitting, design, real estate, stakeholder engagement, and financing. The PMC team has primary responsibilities for risk management, quality management, project management and administration, managing the independent Board of Consultants (BOC) and other senior-level advisors, coordination and liaison with public oversight agencies the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the California Department of Water Resources’ Division of Safety of Dams (DSOD).
